Audrey Hepburn’s Relevance Today

Some people you just never forget.

I always find it fascinating when people are still, for a lack of a better word: “relevant” so many years after “reaching their peek”.
Audrey Hepburn was on top of the world in the 50’s and 60’s with her movies Roman Holiday, Sabrina, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, you name it… She then went on to be a mother to her two sons and made fewer movies and yet people never lost interest. There was always some kind of urge to see her. Whether that was seeing her in real life or on screen.

Because of that I went over to my Instagram account (Hepburnism) and asked the following question: Why do you think Audrey Hepburn is still relevant today?
Here are some of the answers I got:

@x_jess_t
The most important thing I see in Audrey which makes her relevant is that she is honest and a kind person. It stands apart from many other stars, there’s just something that makes you look up to her. A quality that you don’t find often enough.

@gryffindorgrande
I think Audrey is still relevant today because she has not only such a timeless sense of style, beauty, grace and talent but she also did so much to help others and that really comes through in everything she did. I think she inspires a lot of people to this day because she had so much kindness and grace which the world needs more of and people see that light in her. It’s impossible not to love her.

@janettevoski
For me – her style and elegance. Her beauty surpassed the typical beauty of outer appearance – she was more than just a pretty face. She had talent. Charisma. Intelligence. Courage. Kindness. She is remembered for these reason and many more…

I think her kindness, classic style, and grace remind us all of a time (real or idealized) that we’d like to aspire to, or see again.

She exemplifies grace, beauty, and humanity in its truest and rarest form. She does not need makeup or photoshop for everybody to fall in love with her. She is simply herself and that is enough.

I think those 5 comments perfectly sum up what all the other comments said about Audrey. Yes, the comments were all different but after reading them all I noticed that everyone was saying the same thing, basically…

Audrey is widely known for her beauty and style. Show someone a photo and there’s a 90% chance they will say that they’ve seen her before without knowing who she actually was.

What I loved about the comments is that everyone mentioned her kindness and humanity in some way or the other. Her looks are part of why people love her, but her personality seems to have an even bigger impact. She was and is timeless in every way possible and that’s why I think people will never get tired of the gorgeous Audrey Hepburn.

That’s why she’s still relevant to this day.

Love,
Margreet
